Saved by the bell first started in 1989 and the original series ran until 1993. The program was all about the lives of six teenagers going through high school, Bayside High school, in California. I really loved many of the early 90's teen shows and this was by far, one of the best. A few weeks ago I was browsing ebay (as you do!) and came across a DVD of one of my favourite TV shows when I was younger - Saved By The Bell. I love a bit of nostalgia so I bought it, already eagerly waiting for it to drop through my letterbox! Saved by the bell was one of my favorite programmes growing up, set in an American high school it followed the antics of 6 friends, as with most American programmes of this type there was always a moral but it was also very funny. The main character of the show was called Zack Morris, a blond haired trickster who always just managed to avoid getting into trouble. He was very much in love with Kelly Kapowski and they had a very on off relationship all the way through, they we're an early Ross and Rachel. Saved by the Bell was one of my favourite programmes in my early teens, set in California it was an American teen comedy that followed the antics of some American high school kids. While it never really took off over here it was very successful in America and spawned a couple of spin off shows. Most of the storylines focused on the antics of Jack, Screech, Lisa and Mr Belding who was the school principle. Being America all of the kids were good looking and very cool with the exception of Screech who was the geek of the group and so provided most of the humour in the show. Saved by the Bell: Saved by the Bell, was perhaps one of the most popular teen sitcoms to air during the early 90’s, which in my opinion revolutionised day time teen sitcoms and paved the way for other shows such as Sabrina, California dreams, kenan and kel to name just a few. The show, which dealt with both drama and comedy, was aired on NBC between 1989 and 1993. The original name for the show was “Good Morning, Miss Bliss”; however this was later changed to “Saved by the Bell”.
