Red Dwarf ... BBC sitcom from the early 90 s, this mixed science fiction with comedy. Set on a large mining-ship which due to a freak accident ends up travelling for three million years into deep space. With all the crew killed in the accident, only Dave Lister remained protected in suspended animation. When he is revived, he is quickly accompanied by a lifeform who evolved from his cat (into fully human form), and a hologramatic simulation of his worst enemy. In later series, a robot name dKryten joins the crew, and in the latest of series, further characters are added. This was at the time a brillian situation comedy, which heavily relied on the dialogue between the character... Read the full review: Boys from the Dwarf by Gaven |

Star Trek - The Next Generation ... is the only Star Trek sequel created by Gene Roddereny and now has Patrick Stewart commanding a later model of the enterprise (his character Picard and Kirk even meet in Generations). The characters change around a bit here, with Thasha Yar cheif of security for most of series 1, Dr. Crusher being dropped for series 2 but then coming back and Whoppi Goldberg taking on a recurring guest role. Second in command, Riker, I have never liked. A bad character acted badly, same with Will Crusher. These are two characters the series really could have done without. Other than that it was a great crew, now with an android and a klingon on board now giving a more universal feel.... Read the full review: Worthy follow up by Asdf1 |
