A great British Comedy (Shameless)

For anybody who has not seen the show, Shameless is a channel four drama/comedy based on the lives of the working class / benefit grabbing lives of the people of the Chatworth estate, in Manchester.
The main family is the Gallagers , we have Frank the father - quite an anoying character when you think of it, but every episode he'll be sure to provide with a witty one liner or a moment of comic genius, for example the season 5 pooing at a funeral!
the mother Monica done arunner before the show started, but comes back as a lesbian, gets back with Frank then leaves again. Not the funniest character, but she helps you sympathise with the younger Gallagers.
The Gallager children are what we love to see, Fiona, Lip, Ian, Carl, Debbie and Liam, then Stella comes along. The teenage angst mixed up with sex, drugs and alcohol creates an entertaining and almost realistic story.

In the first three series we had Kev and Veronica living next door, wacky neighbours, great to watch and very funny! then they leave and the Maguires move in, becoming almost the central family. Bringing new storylines to the show. I think the Maguires have helped keep shameless alive, the Gallagers were starting to become abit same-old and now this Irish thug family have spiced the show right up.
Other main characters include Yvonne and her family, we see a bit of the poice officers Stan, and we also ahve the brothel run by an old woman!

A great show, giving an insight into the extremes of council life, i find it funnier as i live near a council estate and friends who live on them, and its amusing when you see shameless and question whether this happens.
But after several series the show is stronga nd still wickidly funny!
