Advantages: Easy to watch, wish you were there.
Disadvantages: Only focus on a few main characters.
Nowadays TV is littered with reality TV shows of all types. My personal favorite has to be Shipwrecked.
Shipwrecked is shown on Channel four (T4) on Sunday mornings / midday and repeated on the following Saturday. It lasts around 3-4 months on TV. Each week on TV documents a week in the shipwreckers lives, however, interestingly their 'weeks' are shorter than ours.
The series follows a group of young adults stranded on two small beautiful islands near the main Island Bora Bora. As the series progresses more and more young hopefuls are added to the islands to stir up trouble and competition. The series starts with a couple of people on each island and normally each week two new members arrive and one or both will stay. The islands are split into two teams, one on each island, and are called the sharks and tigers. Normally new arrivals spend half the week with one 'tribe' and then the other half with the other tribe. Ultimately each tribe are trying to win over the new arrivals as the competition is to win the most people on your island to win the money.
The twists and fine details vary from series to series. In one series both new arrivals would have to agree on one Island to stay on and then only one was chosen by that Island to stay and the other sent home.
Shipwrecked has been going since 2001 and each series changes slightly.
The weather is always sunny, the people are always scantily clad, and life is fun on the ship wrecked islands. They have big partys and lots of chilling out and sunbathing, or working hard to build huts depending on who they are and who their island is.
Life is beautiful on shipwrecked and it is a joy to watch.
Summary: Easy to watch, very enjoyable.
