The Simpsons is a very popular cartoon aimed at both kids and adults, which is broadcasted on channel 4 nowadays instead of BBC two as it was in the past. It's on at around 6pm every weekday. It features a family called The Simpsons including Homer and Marge who are the parents to Bart, Lisa and Maggie. They also have a dog called 'Santa's Little Helper', which is explained from a previous episode.

Bart is quite a daredevil and doesn't do very well at school. He has a variety of different friends but they all try and stay away from the school bully too. Lisa is more of a sensible girl and she is characteristic for playing the saxaphone, which she plays very well. Maggie is just a baby and can't really talk as she always has the thing in her mouth.

Homer is a bit of a dopey father but quite funny too - his classic 'Doh!' is quite well-known for when he makes stupid mistakes or has an accident. He also likes to strangle Bart, which is pretty funny but Bart always recovers. Then you have Marge who seems to be the good wife doing all the house work and looking after the family.

There are loads of different episodes and the story in each one varies. Some are linked to Krusty The Clown who is Jewish and has a sidekick. He's always on TV and lives in Springfield where the Simpsons live. I think the episodes are really entertaining and there is always a good deal of humour in each one, which will cheer you up. Some episodes are even romantic but they are always entertaining to watch. It's an excellent cartoon and I'd highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already!
