Advantages: Excellent characters - excellent storylines

Disadvantages: The chance it will move to 9pm!

The Simpsons currently airs at 6pm on Channel 4 week nights. To my horror - as we are all addicts in our house - my nephew recently told me that this is likely to change as it has been decreed it is not suitable for children!

I hope this is not the case, the Simpsons shows family life taken to the extreme. Homer and Marge and their different parentling styles are refelcted in the majority of households in some form or another - although probably not quite as dysfunctionally! The three kids - Bart, Lisa and Maggie each have their own unique character - again something which is reflected in most households!

Bart is the 'rascal', Lisa is the 'smart one' and Maggie is the 'baby' - tell me a family where children don't have their own unique characteristics and I will fall off this chair!

Please do not deny children this slice of family life - even at its most dsyfunctional!

Summary: Children should watch this - it shows family life at its best!!!
