Advantages: for all the family- keep u entertained

Disadvantages: none

Homer Simpson is a family man who also needs his own personal private time to unwind after work at the nuclear power plant. He loves to frequent Moe’s bar and smack down a few nice cold ones. Fortunately his wife Marge is there to support his decision for some personal time and is more than qualified to handle their 3 kids alone. Marge and Homer enjoy a special relationship where they back each up 100%. This is an indication that they have that special magic necessary for a long-term commitment.

The most troubled child is Bart. He seems to create one mess after another and needs help from Homer, Marge, the schoolteacher, his friend Milhouse or the police chief’s son to help get him out of the mess. His character is rebellious and that makes it difficult to keep damage control to a minimum. He is a very funny child with a lot of wild ideas on how to spice things up in their town of Springfield. You might say he likes living on the edge.

Homer spends much time with Apu at the Quickimart finding goodies to munch on. Sometimes he comes in handy as a replacement cashier during an attempted robbery. He never seems to understand the severity of the situation when Apu puts him in it and he leaves the thief frustrated and empty handed.

At home, Marge gets the house ready for Homer so he can enjoy his evening with a cold beer and the television. The kids are very well behaved at home and they live in relative harmony. Sometimes Grampa is there complaining how things aren’t like they used to be. He may be the funniest of the lot. The other two children are Maggie, the youngest child who always goes with the flow as indicated in the start of every show when being priced by a scanner at the grocery store and placed in a shopping bag for the ride back home. The oldest child, Lisa is the brains and musically gifted one of the 3 children. She has a problem fitting in with the other students as she marches to the beat of her own drum (or
saxophone in this case).

Throw in Moe at the bar and Barnie, Homer’s belching friend and most of the main characters are covered. This only leaves the Police Chief, a dimwit with swine like appearance who somehow is lucky enough to catch the bad guys usually. His son, the school nerd along with the slightly older juvenile delinquent that raises some hell and teaches Bart a trick or two and you have the most well rounded cast since Melrose Place.

The shows are well written and very funny. All is well in the end even if the house burned down or someone was slightly injured. This is light hearted comedy that consistently has exciting stories with a certain amount of suspense that makes you wish things were more like Springfield in your own hometown.

My only con here is that this cartoon is much more adult orientated than for children. Definitely a PG rating here. I recommend this show for all those looking for a few hours of laughs, zany action and nonstop fun.
