Advantages: good drama

Disadvantages: little unrealistic

Skins is a teen drama program shown on E4 and then Channel 4 later on in the year, it features on groups of teenagers as they go about their usual business of sex, drugs and rock and roll.

It is currently on its third series with all new characters as the first and second series contained totally different characters to the third series, apart from one girl, Effy, who is now kind of the queen bee in this third series.

The third series is only a few episodes in so far, so it could get going a little better however I am unsure whether its as good as the first two as of yet. I think I preferred the characters in the first two series rather than the new characters in this series. The first lot of characters seemed more likable, whereas these characters don't seem to relate to me at all.

Also the story lines are perhaps getting too farfetched, more and more so as the series goes on really.
The story lines are definitely not for the older generation and do contain a lot of sex, and drugs and general partying along with lots of swearing.

Over all the program is pretty good, its made very well and sometimes its funny however it really is quite a good drama, some of the story's do relate to real life, such as girl trouble and some of the stories in there are really touching.
It is definitely made for a younger audience, and if you are around 14-20 then you will probably enjoy this program. If you haven't already seen the first series then go on 4od where you can watch all the episodes for free, let me know if you agree on the first series and second being better than the third.
