This is a BBC television show that follows exceptionally poor people who live in Birmingham. It is done in pretty much a fly on the wall documentary style with the TV director or producer sometimes asking questions to the poor person that they are filming. Some people have criticized the programme as poking fun at the unfortunate or for being exploitative. I don't agree with this at all. This was a horrible TV series produced for BBC. The programme followed really poor people. These people had no money and lived rough or in cheap hostels. I remember one had to pawn something to buy big issue magazines. One women lived in a hostel. One man came out of prison and had to sleep rough. They were all skint and BBC camera's followed them earning little bit of money or struggling to survive a day. For them £5 a day was a lot of money. It was a very difficult show to watch. i like watch skint, as it makes me feel better about my life at present, although all the people 'starring' in it are down and out bums, it gives you a taste of how bad life could be. As well as that it makes me feel happy that i don't live in a place like that while also giving me a cheap but good laugh. I wouldn't consider buying any merchandise such as dvd's, but i enjoy it as a bbc programme. ... Read the complete review
