I'm a big fan of Sliders and was very happy when it was announced that the first and second seasons would finally be released on DVD in a 'Dual Dimension' collectors box set. I had been waiting a long time for this day and it wouldn't have happened without the determenation of the fans that sent numerous letters, emails and pettitions off to the executives of the show. I bought my Box set for around £28, which was a bit high considering most TV shows that have 22 episodes cost around £23 or so, but I didn't care, I could finally get one of my fav sci-fi shows on DVD after all these years of waiting. [The History behind Sliders] Sliders started ... Read the complete review

Where It's The Same Year, And You're The Same Person, But Everything Else Is Different, And What If You Can't Find Your Way Home...” This quote is said during the opening credits, and from there the show caught my imagination. We have all been at sometime plague by thoughts of ‘What If’. Sliders embraces this ‘What if’ with the theory that there are parallel universes and that every decision you make has two outcomes, therefore has two parallel universes, resulting in infinite universe ... The concept of parallel worlds may well be pure fiction but it is a great theme for a series of TV programmes. Quinn Mallory invents/discovers a device which opens, for want of a better description, a wormhole which magically transports him and his three adventurers to a parallel world for a particular period of time but in the same location. They know not where they are going and have no means of returning to their own earth, except by accident as each leap is at random. So they are fated to travel the parallel worlds until such time as fate decrees that they can go home. With such a brief the series can go on forever or until the money runs out or ...
