Smallville is one of my favourite TV series, it follows Clark Kent in his teenage years before he knew how to use his powers to the maximum capability. This is defiantly a series to get in to if you like the superman franchise it has lots of special affects and some brilliant actors to go with it. In each series you see Clark Kent mature and learn how to use all his different powers . Smallville is the latest televised version of the Superman saga, this time telling the story of the early life of Clark Kent et al. It starts off based in the name giving Smallville, a small town in Kanvas, with the first season essentially being used to set up the characters of the main cast. The first few seasons follow the high school years but sadly offer very little in the way of revelations to the story, with Clark mostly battling against 'meteor freaks' that have been caused by the meteor shower in which he arrived. As the seasons progress though the story does become more complex with the Luthor family becoming more and more involved in finding out Clark's secret ...

Smallville, now in its 8th season, sees the viewer get an entertaining insight into the life of a young Clark Kent before he becomes the man of steel. The purist fans of Superman will lvoe this in many ways but will also be able to pick holes in the historical moments on offer here as they don't fit the true tale of how Clark grew up, but for me, that is not what Smallville is all about. Smallville aims to spice up the early Superman years as there wouldn't be much pointin watching 8 years of Clark run around a farm chasing trains, which is really all that did happen in the true creators version, until he becomes Superman.
