Snog, Marry, Avoid? ... transforming over the top girls and guys into natural beauties.

Newest Review: ... in the girl band Atomic Kitten, the shows basic premise is to find girls who hide behind too much make up, promiscuous clothing and generally look tarted up, they are then presented to 100 men who decide if they would snog, marry or avoid them, obviously if all the men said snog or marry the show would have no point, so almost always they will say avoid and then the programme goes about ... more

Premium Review Snog, Marry, Avoid?: A Missed Opportunity (412 words)

Reality television, its something you associate with MTV, living TV, ITV, Channel 4, but not really the more cerebral channel of BBC3, however the Beeb are obviously keen to ensure this is one bandwagon they don't miss out on so they've actually made a show tackier than anything Big Brother, i'm a celebrity or any others could create. Shown on BBC3 for 30 minute durations on varying occasions with continual repeats, the show is vulgar and entirely aimed at women. Presented by Jenny Frost, who apparently was in the girl band Atomic Kitten, the shows basic premise is to find girls who hide behind too much make up, promiscuous clothing and generally ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Why do some girls want to look like oompa loompas ? (642 words)

Snog Marry Avoid 'claims' to be a one of a kind makeunder show, taking the rancid orange mini-skirted slappers you see vomiting all over their boots after chucking out time on a saturday night, stripping them of all their 'fakery' and turning them into demure, classy, natural beautys. The show is hosted by Jenny Frost, who briefly interviews each girl before and after her makeunder , and then performing the makeunder itself is POD , or Personal Overhaul Device, a computer with a fine line in sarcasm . Most of the girls on the show have style icons such as Jodie Marsh - even Jodie Marsh herself has been on the show . Without wishing to generalise the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Snog, Marry, Avoid?: Don't Avoid This Show! (306 words)

Now of course this show is pretty dire. Each week an assortment of overly made-up, underly dressed girls oozing to be in Nuts, "cooky" flurosecent nutters and gloomy goths get plonked infront of POD (Personal Overhaul Device), a patronising computer which turns them into a "natural beauty". This generally entails wanging a wig onto them, stripping the makeup from their skin and dragging them into a hippy/buisness womens dress. Nearly every makeover is like this. The former-nutters then pour a wave of gratitude over POD because they love their new look so much. Then a week later they change back. Now, there are a few masterstrokes here. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Snog, marry, avoid? I'd avoid most of the time! (419 words)

Snog, Marry, Avoid is a show which is hosted by Jenny Frost and shown on BBC Three at seemingly completely random times. The format of the show sees men & women who wear too much make-up, look plastic, have trashy nail & hair extensions etc and normally wear too much fake tan. A short video or a photograph of the contestant are shown to members of the public and they are asked the question snog, marry or avoid? and then the contestant gets shown these reactions. After this part of the show the contestant will be spoken to by the POD (Personal Overhaul Device) which is a computer that comes with some witty & very cutting comments on how the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Snog, Marry, Avoid?: Avoid! (336 words)

This is one of those random shows that you just end up watching now and then and is a late night show on BBC3. Essentially this has a very very simple concept about mainly girls who have too much makeup and are given a makeover(i.e less makeup and a new hairstyle and dress) and made to look better. It is a low budget show with the person put in front of the camera and a fake robot machine thing, and the robot voice basically asks them what they think of themselves and the majority of the time they say they look great. The reason for the title is that their pic is shown to random members of the public and they are asked if they would snog, marry or avoid the ...  Read the complete review
