Snog Marry Avoid 'claims' to be a one of a kind makeunder show, taking the rancid orange mini-skirted slappers you see vomiting all over their boots after chucking out time on a saturday night, stripping them of all their 'fakery' and turning them into demure, classy, natural beautys.

The show is hosted by Jenny Frost, who briefly interviews each girl before and after her makeunder , and then performing the makeunder itself is POD , or Personal Overhaul Device, a computer with a fine line in sarcasm .

Most of the girls on the show have style icons such as Jodie Marsh - even Jodie Marsh herself has been on the show . Without wishing to generalise the contestants , most of the girls have resembled oompa-loompas with several miles of haid extensions and a couple of glittery handkercheifs masquerading as clothing . Some of them haven't worn clothing at all, but like to go clubbing in knickers . You get the occasional Goth girl or crazy luminous woman who claims to be an elf, and there have been a couple of guys, including one who had a rather stunning pierced mohican on his head .

Whilst with the Goth girls and most of the men I can credit with some individuality and not sneer at their looks so much, most of the girls are just identikit bleached blondes with huge (often enhanced) boobs and a tan that goes several stages too far . I have on more than one occasion been baffled trying to figure out if a girl is mixed race or over tanned (over tanned every time so far).

The show can be amusing at times, with most of the makeunder subjects being as dumb as a bag of rocks, or at least putting on an act to appear so . POD likes to take the mickey out of their outfits, but doesn't really do it any original way - she makes a lot of 'dad' comments, such as enquiring if an item is a skirt or a belt .

Thye makeunders themselves are quite good, and in the majority of cases the girls look vastly better, and claim to like their new looks . Usually the makeunder involves using subtle make up rather than shovelling it on with a trowell, a change in hair style, and some slightly classier clothes that actually manage to cover their buttocks.

A little after the makeunder, the girls are interviewed again to see if they stuck with their new looks or went back to trying to imitate trailer trash barbie . In the majority of cases, they return back to their fanta-coloured tans, their panda like mascara and wearing reams of hair extensions, but in a rare few cases they either keep the new look, or adapt it slightly . It's amazing to see the girls that DO keep the looks - they seem to be more intelligent in their second interviews, perhaps because they are not tripping on hairspray fumes anymore .

Whilst the show is somewhat original, I wouldn't say it'sa great show, and certainly not one I would make a point of watching . However, I don't mind watching it when it is on, and muttering the occasional 'What on earth does she look like?!' at the TV . Jenny Frost as a host is pretty bland, and POD is just a silly concept - do the BBC really expect us to believe that a computer is doing the make-over ? We're not stupid, and if they removed the POD device and just showed the makeover being done, I think the show would be a lot more intelligent , and perhaps more interesting .

Overall, I think it's worth watching if there is nothing else on, if only to see the horrible slap some girls wear. I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it though.
