Advantages: great comedy, guests
Disadvantages: none
Soccer am is a great TV show all about the beautiful game that is football shown on sky sports one and viewing starts at 9am and ends at 12pm on saturday mornings. The programme first appeared in the early 90's(about 1995 i think), but only one of the original presenters still remains, the gorgeous Helen Chamberlain. She has been a great asset of the show since its was first launched, but she has had many male presenters during that time. The funniest presenter was Tim Lovejoy who now appears on something for the weekend a cooking show on the bbc . He was very funny, and just a little bit cheeky a sexist at times. since he has left I feel the programme has got a little bit less appealing as it has lost a hint of its humorous factor . The co presenter presently is Max Rushden, who is new to the show this season - he supports Cambridge Utd. Other notable members of the team include Tubes (asks questions guests and does some interviews with household names in the film and TV business), Rocket (presents the famous 'skills school' feature of the show) and Baby Elvis.
The show goes through all the action from previous weeks games from the premier league to la liga, and also has hit features such as skill school, showboat, crossbar challenge and many more. It also has many top guests like Ricky Hatton, the Gallaher's(oasis) and usually a footballer(usually retired , injured or suspended. They also have fans of the week, a set of fans from one team who get to participate in the show such as the car park challenge where they have to get the ball through the target as many times as possible in 2 minutes, and the catwalk, basically making a fool of themselves with the society at there side.
The best bits-
soccerette - every week a 'soccerette' joins the show for the day. She basically has to come on the show in the shirt of the team she supports and well just has to look sexy, she also has to model the soccer A.M. tee- shirt which is won in the car park challenge.
Nutmeg Files - Embarrasses certain footballers by showing them being megged ha-ha.
3rd Eyes - They pick out funny moments from previous sporting action in the week or strange happening hilarious must watch aspect of the show
Crossbar Challenge - basically what it says on the tin, they choose a top English league club to attempt to hit the bar from the half way line, if a player does he gets the tee-shirt to say so and also mobbed by his fellow team mates.
Skills School - they choose two players from a clubs youth academy to pit there skills against each other, witnessing some of these skills you cant help but be astonished by what some players can do, the one with louder cheer from there fellow team mate wins
For any real true football fan it's a must watch the show in my view has no boring bit's(just the amount of breaks does my head in) great guests great entertainment, just all round great TV. It has the best quality guests, great presenters(a shame love joy left though). It also has a great comedy theme which is a plus point to any show.
Summary: excellent
