Soccer Am used to be one of the highlights of my week. I used to love getting up on a Saturday morning to watch Soccer Am from 9-12 and then go to the football or watch soccer Saturday.

Soccer Am is a show mainly about football. Hosted by Helen Chamberlain , a Torquay fan and now Max Rushden a Cambridge united fan.

The show has guests each week, usually high profile guests. Ex football players, sports personalities, move stars, TV stars, singers, bands etc.

The programme used to be very funny when it was hosted by Helen Chamberlain and Tim Lovejoy. Tim Lovejoy has this presence about him which made him very funny. He used to mess a lot of things up but it was what made the show. Sadly when he left, the show went very much down hill as they got a host called Andy Goldstein who was pretty rubbish. He got sacked after a year and replaced by the now Max Rushden.

They have several features on the show. The soccerette, being a female to walk up and down there catwalk in a tight fitting t-shirt.

The fans of the week, which they have a set, about 10, of fans from a football team each week who sit in the Luther Blisset stand and watch it from there. The fans also get the chance to play the game 'road to Rome' which the fans of the week and the guests on the show get to try to kick the ball into a hole.

The crossbar challenge. Football clubs get the chance at their training ground to kick a ball from the half way line to try and hit the crossbar. If a player from a team does it they get a t shirt.

Team mates. A footballer from one team answers questions about his fellow team mates. I.e - Whos the most skillful etc

Skills school is a feature where 2 youth players from a football team challenge each other to see who can do the best skills.

Tubes is a legend on the show. He is a fat man with longish hair who raps to the guests. If you don't know who he is youtube tubes. Most of it is hilarious.

Soccer am is shown on skysports 1 and on sky one from 8am-12 on Saturday morning. Highlights of the show called, the best of soccer am, is shown on a Wednesday night on Sky1 for an hour.

Soccer Am used to be the best thing on TV but after Tim Lovejoy left the show, although Max Rushden is quite good as hosting it, it doesn't have the same appeal as it did.
