Advantages: quirky and different
Disadvantages: does glorify violence and robbery etc
Thought I would write a review after reading first review which was great and really informative.
SAM CRO as they are frequently refered to in the series are the sons of anarchy motorcycle club, redwood original.
This club has been running the town of Charming in California for the last forty years and nowadays indulge in gun running, theft and various other naughty activities.
The cast is great with Ron (hellboy) Pearlman,Charlie Hunnam(green street, queer as folk) as the president and vice president, which is a complex stepfather and son relationship which sometimes threatens to boil over and affect the club, lead a group of bikers that work out of a garage on there various illegal activites.
Complex storylines invovling ex-girlfriends and ATF agents mean that the first six episodes that i have watched have been compelling and slightly confusing with the show designed for a 9.00 or 10.00pm slot meaning that the violence is tame but cleverly constructed, such as ex-member of the gang getting too familiar with a blow torch, me and the wife actually winced!! did not see too much but was filmed and made to look and feel horrific.
This is created by the genius Kurt Sutter (the shield) who really loves to create interesting and quirky shows, i do feel that there is more to come from the sons of anarchy and am expecting storylines to get stronger and better.
Still worth watching considering some of the other tosh on telly, catch it on FX!!
Summary: plenty more to come as first series is fairly good.
