Advantages: Well acted, some interesting story lines
Disadvantages: sometimes looks like an 80s music video
At it's most basic level the series is based around a Motorcycle Club in a charming little town called urmmm Charming.
At the centre of said club is a Jax (30 something club vice president) trying to find a balance in his life between putting the club first (as his father and founder of the club would have wanted) and his new found family life. Coupled with this is a strange relationship with his step father, who is also the president of the club since his fathers death.
This show is another of the US series where there is no real good guy, and I must say I am enjoying this new trend. The club have their hands in a lot of things including drug running, protection, police corruption and this weighs heavy on the mind of Jax, as he begins to research what his father really wanted for the club.
There's plenty of action, the odd beautiful person and some actual funny moments. Though I have to say the tattoo removal scene was one of the hardest to watch things I have seen in a long time.
This show sometimes borders on the cheesy but in general is a very enjoyable series, well acted and nicely shot. Characters are well rounded (though maybe not always believable) and you seem to offer you empathy without too much coaxing needed.
I am very much looking forward to season 2.
Summary: I am looking forward to season 2 very much
