Star Trek - VoyagerNewest Review: ... the caretaker voyager starts by changing the locals attitudes towards them. Several run ins with the borg lead to trouble and we even meet their leader as well as a race of even more powerful aliens who can destroy them. My favourite episodes would include the Killing Game where the ship's taken over by aliens who want to hunt them down like wild animals for sport, Scorpian the first Borg ... more |

A bold series, now with a woman captain and trying to head back home instead of going out and exploring the cosmos. It's a back to front series. Dragged all the way to the other side of the galaxy voyager has a long haul home and the going isn't easy. Star Trek Voyager goes up and down in my affections as a fan of the Star Trek franchise. As a version of Star Trek, the programme is different from all the other Sar Treks in that in the very first episode the ship is catapulted to the delta quadrant by a myserious force called the Caretaker, who then dies, voyager is catapulted along with a Marque ship which is star treks attempt at either pirate or outlaw force. The federation being a democracy of planets is still dominated by Earth and Vulcan, the Marque want a more open society and want access to live where ever they wish. The Marque are of course a dissident movement and don't trust the Federation, their ... Read the complete review

Star Trek Voyager is a spin off series from Star Trek. I'm not sure if it's the 3rd or 4th incarnation of Star Trek (don't know if Deep Space 9 came first), but it's the best one. Cast **** Kate Mulgrew as Kathryn Janeway Robert Beltran as Chakotay Tim Russ as Tuvok Vulcan Roxann Dawson as B'Elanna Torres Robert Duncan McNeill as Tom Paris Garrett Wang as Harry Kim Robert Picardo as The Doctor Ethan Phillips as Neelix Talaxian Jennifer Lien as Kes Ocampan Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine My Thoughts *********** I like all the Star Trek spin offs, but not the original ... The weakest of the Treks by far, Voyager, like its sister show Deep Space Nine, was a spin off of Star Trek: The Next Generation, in turn a spin off itself of the original 1960's show. It's premise involved a starship, Voyager, being thrown thousands of light years out of known space and it's crew being forced to find their way home, potentially over many decades. Voyager was a grand idea and could have been wonderful. Unfortunately it suffered from poor scripts, bland characters, aside from perhaps Captain Janeway herself, and fell into the trap of trying to guess what the audience wanted instead of letting the show grow organically, ultimately leading to ... Voyager is often the most maligned of Star Trek series' even by Trekkies themselves. Myself I've always had a soft spot for Voyager, having enjoyed it as a kid. I recently re-watched the series from episode one season one, to the finale in season 7, and I must say I enjoyed it immensely. At times the acting is hammy, the storylines ridiculous and the plot holes numerous. But then, isn't that part of what Star Trek is about? Even when it is completely ridiculous it is funny, and still retains a kind of charm. Alongside this, Voyager ahs great characters, who really develop as the series progresses. It is often philosophical, and the ... Read the complete review
