Description: Davina McCall searches the streets and tries to conjure up some romance for channel 4.

Newest Review: ... rolling. Davina would then catch up with them a few weeks later to see if it was the start of true love or if they really didn't get along. In the majority of cases, the dates didn't work out but there were a few where love blossemed. The story was revived in 2007 by ITV2 & was presented by Holly Willoughby. However due to poor ratings, it was dropped after one series which is a real ... more

Streetmate is a dating show which aired on Channel 4 from 1998 to 2001. It was presented by Davina McCall & was actually her first major appearence on television. It's a show which I absolutely loved & was extremely entertaining to watch. Each week, Davina would visit a town or city across the UK in search for a single of male or female, who is willing to get involved & allow Davina to help him find a date. Davina would then do all the hard work & go and ask the relevent individuals. As a result, the two would go out on a date with the cameras rolling. Davina would then catch up with them a few weeks later to see if it was the start of true ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review This is Davina - but not in the Big Brother House (319 words)

This used to be must see TV on a Friday night for me a few years back (not sure if it had anything to do with the wine I was drinking at the time!) I think this was probably one of Davina's first appearances on our TV screens. She would visit a largish city in the Uk and attempt to set up a Blind date effectively. The first unsuspecting person would be hassled by Davina into going on a date and then they would spend the next 10 minutes of the programme rushing around the city trying to find someone of the opposite sex they would like to go on a date with - the majority of people asked were either, already in a relationship or would be 'Busy' but eventually ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Top marks to the lovely Davina (419 words)

Talk about saddos! There are people out there that need a television crew, an offer of a free meal and the lovely Davina McCall to to go up to a complete stranger and ask them out on a date. Lets face it, half the reasons that these people are single is because they are no good at being with the opposite sex. Personality goes a long way in relationships but this programme is based upon looks alone. Lets examine the principal. A single person is walking the street. Davina McCall offers to set them up on a date with another complete stranger who they must pick. Theory immediately flawed. Lets face it, you are not going to pick a right munter ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Streetmate: Davina, please don't do it!! (152 words)

Oh Davina why do you stoop so low as to do this show?? It is a very sad silly programme where Davina searches the streets for a single lad and lass and then proceeds to drag them around asking people that they fancie to go out on a dinner date with them. You watch them squirm as they are asked and usually they are attached as apposed to unattached. I have never actually seen a couple who hit it off yet!! Surely one dinner date is not long enough for them to get to know each other anyway! They have even gone as far as doing a 'Beach Mate' as the title suggests looking for couples on the beach, and they have done a 'Ski Mate' where ...  Read the complete review
