The jokes by Bruce may be staged, Bruce himself may not be your favourite but Strictly Come Dancing has come to remind and represent in our house what family entertainment is all about. Something that we can all sit down to on a Saturday night and watch without the fear of the constant adverts that you get with ITV.

My daughter now 6 has taken this programme to her heart, and loves the ladies dresses, joining in with the fast dances, watching the practices and supporting her favourites and saying "SEVEN" just like Len does. Yes she was a John Sargeant fan too.

This review isn't going to labour you with the logistics of the shows format - as this may change this year and accordingly wouldn't be accurate, the few comments I will make are; I don't necessarily recognise all of the celebrities (that's because I watch more Childrens TV) but this does not detract from the entertainment. I do believe the show should see the most accomplished celebrity dancer become the winner and not as in the case of John Sargeant, maybe the voting system for this year will remedy this.

The results show although recorded on the Saturday is not shown until Sunday night, this is a shame as it is a school night and it tends to be on later - not ideal.

The guest singer / performer appearances are reputed and high quality the whole show delivers value for entertainment.

Life without this show would be unbearable for my daughter and has been one of only a few shows that has made me consider letting her venture into watching mainstream television.
