Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two

So, the BBC are finally going up against the X Factor with 'Strictly' on Saturday nights, a commercial move that is not in their remit and one that has angered Simon Cowell. Like Cowells money-maker the BBC has dumped an older judge and replaced them with young totty. Experienced and aging choreographer Aileen Phillips is out and previous winner and eye-candy Alesha Dixon is in, the type of girls the BBC are employing these days. It's cringing watching her judge the celebrities and gawd only knows what the professional dancers think of her. Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two is a companion show to the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing and is shown on BBC2 on weekdays in the early evenings whilst its parent show is airing. It is hosted by Claudia Winkleman and is basically a magazine show dedicated to SCD. There is lots of behind the scenes information from the show, especially all the training for the challenging routines that the dancers perform on the Saturday show. "It Takes Two" is a sister show of the popular Strictly Come Dancing. It runs every week day on BBC 2 at 6.30pm and is presented by Claudia Winkleman. The programme gives a behind the scenes look at the dancing couples training, interviews with the contestants and the judges amongst other things. Each week the shows follow the same basic outline. Even if I hated the camp-fest that is Strictly Come Dancing (and sadly, what I actually hate is when arrangements are made to go out just a little bit too early on a Saturday night for about 4 months of the year....), I would love It Takes Two for one simple reason - Claudia Winkleman! She's a genius host of what is a essentially a silly but hugely fun bit of entertainment fluff on every evening at 6.30. This is a great programme which is actually a supplement to Strictly Come Dancing, currently enjoying its sixth series on BBC1 on Saturday nights, with the results show on Sundays (although we all know that the results are filmed on the Saturday, too!). Claudia Winkleman is the host of Strictly Come Dancing - It Takes Two; it is screened every weekday night (on BBC2 at 6.30pm) while the actual competition is running, and each episode lasts for thirty minutes.
