Advantages: Good fun, lets you catch up on the training

Disadvantages: Not for those who arent fans of Strictly Come Dancing, the Ask Len feature is silly

"It Takes Two" is a sister show of the popular Strictly Come Dancing. It runs every week day on BBC 2 at 6.30pm and is presented by Claudia Winkleman. The programme gives a behind the scenes look at the dancing couples training, interviews with the contestants and the judges amongst other things.

Each week the shows follow the same basic outline. On a Monday Claudia is joined by the couple who were voted out of the show at the weekend. On Tuesday Claudia is joined by the couple who were saved by the judges. On a Wednesday its midweek report time where we get to see the celebrities in the training rooms and see how the dances are progressing. On a Thursday its head judge Len Goodman who gives a dancing master class to Claudia. For those people like me who live in Scotland we miss out on this as we have Gaelic programmes on BBC 2 on a Thursday. Then on a Friday we have one of the judges analysing the dancing and also have a run down on the songs, and the outfits usually with a panel of so called experts or superfans.

Along with these set features we also get behind the scenes information on how the programme is made, how the camera shots are done, meet the people who make the dresses, do the hair and makeup and the singers. I find all of this fascinating to see how much work goes into making the programme. There is also information on the actual dances and what moves are in them, on A Thursday Len tries to teach Claudia some of the steps which is usually hilarious as Claudia has two left feet! This year there is also "Ask Len" which makes Len out to be like Parkinson, it's very cheesy and also rather silly. I think this feature would be best edited out next year. There is also Strictly Forum Questions where the dancers and celebrities answer questions from the website covering all aspects from which is your favourite dance to what is your favourite food! Finally Strictly Cribs shows you inside the professional dancers houses, I always like looking round peoples houses (maybe I am just nosey) so I find this an interesting feature.

I like this programme as a fan of Strictly Come Dancing this gives you a sneak look behind the scenes, keeps you updated on how the couples training is going, gives you gossip on what's going on and lets you find out more about the dances and dancers. If you love Strictly Come Dancing then you will love this. Claudia makes an excellent presenter she is very funny in a ditsy kind of way but really makes the programme work. I always look forward to tuning in.
