Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is a comedy series starring Matthew Perry from Friends. Studio 60 is a sketch show similar to Saturday Night Live. Studio 60 was shown on More 4 in the UK, however I kept missing it and so have since rented the series. I only ever saw the pilot on TV and really enjoyed it. The show got rave reviews following the pilot but it does start to slip as the season evolves. Do not get me wrong.... I enjoyed the show and would recommend it, however it is much better towards the beginning. It did not deserve to be cancelled after only the first season. THE CAST AND CHARACTERS Matthew Perry ... Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is an American television comedy drama series created and written by Aaron Sorkin. You may well recognise his name as the creator of the highly acclaimed and successful West Wing. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip aired on NBC from September 18, 2006 to June 28, 2007 and received mixed reviews. It aired in ...  Read the complete review

Studio 60 is Aaron Sorkin of West Wing fame next big thing. Many fans of the brilliant US political drama went into a slump of depression after the final series was shown this year and were keen to see what Sorkin would come up with next. Well this is it and it’s not too bad. Unfortunately, and for unknown reasons, it has already been shelved after only one season from HBO. It’s certainly not a quality control issues as the six or so episodes I have seen so far are up there with any current American intelligent drama on TV right now. But more of that grumble later. The big problem with this is the awful scheduling, yet again bunged on in the middle of the ...  Read the complete review

"Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" is a behind-the-scenes look at a sketch-comedy show, a la "Saturday Night Live" (or SNL), focusing on two main characters – Matt Albie (Matthew Perry, "Friends"), the new head writer, and Danny Tripp (Bradley Whitford, "The West Wing"), and the new Executive Producer. As the series begins, the show's old Executive Producer, Wes Mendell (Judd Hirsch, "Numb3rs", and "Taxi") has an on-air meltdown and is fired. The new network President, Jordan McDeere (Amanda Peet) hires Matt and Danny in hopes they can rescue it from disaster, and possibly help the network as well. ...  Read the complete review
