Advantages: A great show, highlights the dangers of under and over eating.

Disadvantages: Seeing all that food in the tube might just put you off your dinner!

Supersize Vs Superskinny is an hour long programme which is currently being shown on channel 4 on Tuesdays at 8:00 - 9:00PM.

The concept of the show is to take somebody who is dangerously underweight and somebody who is dangerously overweight. They are then put in to the feeding clinic for 5 days and will eat each others meals to grasp a concept of how what they are currently eating is very unhealthy for them.

During the show the underweight person will be shown the damage that is being done to their body by under eating such as hair loss, malnutrition, skin damage, loss of periods etc and they are normally shown close up photographs of their body which tend to be quite upsetting for them (as you'd imagine I'm sure).

Whilst in the food clinic they have to eat each others meals for a whole week and I think this is generally a shock to both people seeing somebody struggle to either live on their meagre amount of calories or to see somebody try to force down plate after plate of fatty and unhealthy foods which just aren't necessary as part of an everyday diet.

One of the most shocking parts of the show is near the begin when both supersize & superskinny are put together in their underwear (which always seems to be grey and shabby and just unclean looking!) and they have to be weighed, told their BMI and then they each see a giant food tube which is then filled with a weeks worth of their dinners (based on a food diary that they kept a week before coming to the feeding clinic) and sometimes it's unbelievable to see how little or how much some people consume in a week.

Once they have had 5 days in the feeding clinic they then meet back up with the presenter (Dr. Christian) and are weighed again and told how well they have done etc.

They then go off for 12 weeks and have to follow an eating programme, then they return (always looking much better dressed!) and are weighed and it's nice to always see that people are closer to their goals and have really improved their eating habits.

This show really is gripping viewing and in the latest series they have been going back to people from the series shot at the end of 2007 to see how well they have been getting on and it's really nice to see that people are still losing weight/gaining weight and working towards their dream weight and goals in life.

I would highly recommend watching this show, it gives out some fantastic advice and it's great to see how well people can do with the right advice.

Summary: A great show, absolutely worth an hour of my life every week!

This is definately one of the better shows on tv when it comes to highlighting the whole weight issue.

Good show - it amazes me how people get into either state!
