Teachers (Ch 4)Newest Review: ... it shines through during his friendship with Kurt and dates with Eileen, a dinner lady. Jenny- Played by Nina Sosanya in series 1 and 2. Primarily a complete bitch, she lives for her work and taunts Simon with the knowledge that she knows he fancies her. She mellows out towards the end of series one and into the second series to become one of the gang. She comes across quite scary but this is a front and the "real" Jenny is actually nice and friendly. JP- Played by Shaun Evans in series 2. He is a gay teacher although this doesn't come out until a few episodes into the series. He is very smooth and always manages to get out of... more |

Omg I know its been years since Teachers was last on but iv just got back into series 1-3 although I havent watched series 4 yet it sounds dissapointing and upsetting. I cried when I found out Kurt and Brian were killed off, what the hell were the writers thinking? Kurt and Brian made Teachers in my oppinion and I will miss them soo much, its put a downer on the programme. Although the two best characters are dead I still want to watch series 4 because Jonas Armstrong and Mathew Horne are in it and I think they should deffo give the programme a boost :D Oh btw wht the hell happend to Matt and Lindsy falling in love at the end of series 3 ???
My rating is for how I think series 4 sounds Xxxx Jess xxxX

Teachers is a BAFTA-award winning comedy-drama series which was shown on Channel 4 between 2001 and 2004 over 4 seasons. The series follows a group of secondary school teachers at Summerdown Comp as they cope with their somewhat mundane lives consisting of going to school and going to the pub, whilst dealing with relationships, family and the kids at school. CHARACTERS: There are quite a few characters in the season so I'll just go over them briefly, save you from snoozing! Simon- Played by Andrew Lincoln in series 1 and 2 and 3 episodes in series 3. The first series centres heavily around Simon and the other characters are mainly a ... Read the complete review

From the simplest ideas often spring the best of TV concepts. I know why not make a comedy drama series following the lives of teachers and there students. The idea of teachers is simple and it appeals to everyone because we have all been there to some extent and it can make you think back to your school days. Teachers was a channel four drama series that followed the lives and tribulations of a group of young comprehensive school teachers at the fictitious school of Summerdown High (or I hope its not a real school) in Bristol. This was the most successful channel four drama when it was aired and aired for four series. Teachers was nominated for six BAFTA ... Read the complete review

As a teacher myself, I first found this show delightful. It's a BAFTA winning channel 4 comedy drama. The basic premise of the show is that it follows the day to day lives of a group of teachers (in school and out) who are more immature than the kids; this is best seen when they swear at students, pick on kids, and join them for a smoke behind the bike sheds. It's what school would probably be like if there were no consequences for your behaviour as a teacher, and it's pure escapism from the rules and regulations that govern teaching today. The show also follows the teachers outside of school, mainly through storylines revolving around going to the pub and ... Read the complete review

Teachers is a one hour seriues of shows charting the antics at a London comprehensive. It tends to highlight the extremes of behaviour and certainly bears no similarity to my own school days. It is hardly a good advert for the British education system mind you anyone who really thinks that this is how schools are today needs to take a reality check. The show focuses prmarily on the teachers of course, few of the students get a look in other than to run around as hoolians, the teachers tend to be in the late twenty age range however Bob is the rather sad red faced older teacher who ends up buying a Thai bride who hates him and sleeps with the other ...
