Advantages: casting, story, action sequences
Disadvantages: series cut short
this show was luckily not on UK terrestrial tv so therefore it wasnt hyped up too much to turn it into a disappointment when it finally arrived. and this show certainly fails to disappoint!
with an entirely new cast to that of the movies, this new series takes off from where T2:Judgement Day ended. so for all of you who didnt enjoy T3 then you can rest assured that it plays no real part in this series.
the series kicks off just after arnie has been destroyed and, like in T2, sarah connor continues with her philosophical narrative, tieing up loose ends and getting us back into the storyline from 16 years ago. and it fits together remarkably easy.
it retains the classic elements of T2 tho john connors new protector takes the form of a beautiful young woman which actually works a lot better than in T3.
some good casting choices and good writing make this series much more than just stunts and CGI sequences. nothing will compare to T2 but as a spin-off that tries to remain true to the original story, it does so in great fashion in my opinion.
the series is only 9 episodes long but each episode crams in so much that it feels a lot longer tho, due to the writers strike, the series ends quite abruptly which doesnt really do the series any justice. tho it has been recomissioned for a second series and i cant wait for it to return!
Summary: a promising series
