The 4400

Description: Genre: Science Fiction / Drama / 4400 people, assumed to be dead or missing over the past fifty years, reappear in a ... more
The 4400 ... ball of light. When a comet that was supposed to harmlessly fly by the Earth suddenly changes course, the extinction of mankind seems imminent. Countries around the world launch nuclear missiles to destroy it before it can destroy the planet, but surprisingly, the missiles have no affect. The reason: this is no comet. The ball of light enters the atmosphere, and just when it looks like humanity is about to go the way of the dinosaur, the ball slows, hovers, and eventually touches down. Soon after, the light shrinks to an intense point, then explodes outward in a concussive burst, leaving behind 4400 people, including men, women and children of all ages. All are missing persons who have been gone anywhere from a few months to 50 years - and none have aged a day beyond when they were last seen. The 4400 are rounded up, quarantined, and eventually released back to their families. As they begin to try and reconnect with their "life interrupted," not all is well: soon after their release, some of the returnees begin to experience unexplainable, and for some, uncontrollable new abilities. It's up to Tom Bishop and Diana Skouris, two Homeland Security agents, to unravel the mystery behind the 4400.

Newest Review: ... is that 4,400 people disappeared from the face of the earth over the last 50 years, and are all returned at exactly the same moment. They weren't all taken at once though, so some of the characters react better to their new surroundings than others. Obviously things haven't changed much for the ones that only vanished a year or 2 ago, but for the people that disappeared in the 50s... well, ... more

... that's another matter entirely... The show has quite a wide selection of main characters, from some of the people that disappeared and the government officials dealing with it all, to the family members that were left behind and are now reunited with th...more

The 4400 is a strange program, as it appeals to many different demographics. You've got the sci-fi stuff for the geeks, humour for the comedy-lovers, and some very well-written storylines for the people that like to create emotional attachments to the characters they're watching. The basic premise of the series is that 4,400 people disappeared from the face of the earth over the last 50 years, and are all returned at exactly the same moment. They weren't all taken at once though, so some of the characters react better to their new surroundings than others. Obviously things haven't changed much for the ones that only vanished a year or 2 ago, but for the people ...  Read the complete review

The Series is about missing people over a number of years that suddenly all get returned in a big group and a investigation team who trys to sort out where and when these guys came from and intergrate them into society. Crowned Review ...and there were 4400... (1155 words)

One of the things I love about science fiction is that it can allow us to explore possibilities without having to be grounded fully in reality, and pose questions about ourselves and our future without condescension. The best of sci fi generally starts with the familiar, and turns it on its head in order to open up what lies beyond, and so it is with The 4400. I am sure that most people can recall at least a passing fascination at some point with documented cases of people who vanished into thin air in front of credible witnesses. These people ere of all ages, and all walks of life, and had no reason to stage a disappearance. people such as James Worsen of ...  Read the complete review

Science fiction to me is like a breath of fresh air when it comes to TV shows. The concepts they come up with are weird and wonderful and basically they can do whatever they want to in the show and you can’t argue that it would never happen because it is science fiction. My sister Sam was the first one to get into the 4400 and then I trusted her as she said it was excellent and I started to watch it. Well now we have just got into the beginning of the third series and I have also got my fiancé Dave hooked so here is why I think all science fiction fans should start watching this brilliant but yet underrated show. ----- What is the 4400 ...  Read the complete review
