The UK version of The Apprentice makes for some great reality TV viewing on ocassion. The idea of a bunch of hopefuls trolling through some inane tasks to prove they are worthy for Alan Sugar to hire can prove very funny at times - mainly down to the incompetence of the candidates and Sugars comments. OK the comments may be scripted but the delivery is still great. The candidates suffer from the editing as the makers determine how they come across to us. I'm always suprised at whether these are the best candidates in Britain and how they normally work but I guess they are chosen for their entertainment value rather than the skills they possess. I first started watching the Apprentice when the original series with Donald Trump was aired in America. I've always been a great fan of the US Apprentice, always glued to the screen watching everything from the opening credits to the board room battles. Unfortunately in comparison to the original the UK Apprentice is a depressing series with little appeal. The first major flaw with The Apprentice UK is Alan Sugar himself. Each team will have to work together to complete a task that is set by Sir Alan Sugar. The tasks range from car cleaning to setting up a little business and designing certain products for certain markets. It's all business related as the ... Read the complete review

The tasks range from sales, event organisation, to buying and bartering for products. The candidates split into groups with team leaders and the winning team get's a treat from Sir Alan something along the lines of a helicopter ride ... Read the complete review

The apprentice Uk started in 2005 and has just finished its 5th season. It is shown on BBC 1 with the spin off show 'The apprentice: You're fired' shown on BBC2 shown straight after the main show. In the 5th series, 15 contestants battled it out to win a job, paying a 6 figure salary, working for Sir Alan Sugar. There was supposed to be 16 candidates this series but one of them pulled out before filming started. Open auditions are held across the country before the final people are chosen. Contestants are split up into teams and have to compete against each other in order to be safe from the boardroom with Sir Alan. Each team must choose a project ... Read the complete review
