The Apprentice follows 15 candidates over 12 weeks who are applying to work for business man sir Alan Sugar who owns one of Londons largest empires Amstrad. The show follows the progress of the candidates as through various business tasks set they must pit their wits against one another in order to gain the role as 'The Apprentice' a job role that will be an annual salary of 100,000.

The show is set in two parts, the first half follows the candidates leaving their luxury pad to meet with sir Alan and his two aids Margaret and Nick and finding out their task for the show. They then go off in two sepearate teams and perform the task under the guidance of either Margaret and Nick.

The second part of the show sees the candidates returning to the board room to meet with Sir Alan who unveils which team has made the most money in the task given, for the winner there is a special treat however for the losing team they are asked to return to the board room to argue their case for why the task went wrong and who indeed was responsible.

A follow up debate is then undertaken with the team leader selecting two members of their team to fight it out for illumination whichever member is unable to convince Sir Alan that the failure was not their fault is then fired off by the great man with the words 'You're Fired'

This show is proper reality tv, however unlike other shows it does have a point and even those that are not in to reality tv on the whole [like me] will appreciate this show for the business thinking of the candidates and how people react within a set time period to undertake and succeed in the tasks given.

The only down side to this show is that it can sometimes become tedious after a series or two and Sir Alan himself can become annoying as can some of the candidates but the drive to succeed can be gripping viewing.

Summary: The apprentice will keep you gripped
