Advantages: Sir Al's belligerence, Seeing so called experts make complete twits of themselves, highly funny!

Disadvantages: Budgets could be bigger for some of the tasks, treats are well...pathetic

I hate Barcelona. I haven't got much time for Manchester either. Well just for tonight that is.

See, I love football but on Wednesday's there is a daily evening ritual which I have been subjecting myself to. Yep, it's good old Sid James sound-a-like Mr Sugar and his bunch of business wannabees.

We're getting very close now to the point where Mr S is going to select his new apprentice and this years candidates have provided us much entertainment. Unfortunately for them it's pretty much for the wrong reasons but does result in some great telly moments.

Now, for a bunch of shrewd business people you'd expect the money to flow in. Wrong! I'm sure this years selection are the worst yet and despite Sir Al telling us they're a group of very talented people I'm sure behind closed doors he thinks rather differently. The worst example was where they were flogging stuff cheaper than cost in the antiques challenge. What was they thinking?

A great number of the contestants seem to want engage in pointless arguing in trying to win their case. There's a lot of chest thumping going on with very little substance at times. Mind you, there's nothing better than watching Sir Al dismiss their arrogance with a stern word or two. EG 'You didn't sell anything, You talk to him like that again and don't either bother turning up at the boardroom' are just a couple of his many put downs.

The highlight of this year surely has to be James though. I'd be astonished if he won but then I'm amazed he's still here at this late stage. His sales patter is quite unique: 'You lean forward, the lid opens and the baby falls out' is pure comedy gold. Throw into the mix his crazed expressions and frequent verbal gaffes and you have high entertainment. Despite saying words to the contrary, Sir Al should employ this man as court jester.

At this late stage it's time to turn our focus onto the likely winner. To me there are two who do stand out from a pretty mediocre lot. Yasmina or Kate do seem to have business acumen and Kate is very good at talking to people. Still, we shall see.

Of course, we can't leave the show without mentioning Nick and Margaret. Despite the hilarity Nick remains as po faced as ever although Margaret has lapsed into laughter a few times (especially around James!) The best thing Nick did was to explain where a team had gone wrong with their pricing of perfume and then calmly say 'I'll let you get on with it then.' Priceless, much like the cost of the product!

So, back to tonight. Do I watch the European cup final or the Apprentice. Thank God for HD recorders!

Summary: Wednesday nights sorted :D

I'm so pleased that self-centred plank got booted out last week!
