Advantages: Enjoyable, interesting, funny

Disadvantages: Some candidates are total idots!

The Apprentice began in 2005 but I only started watching it in 2007 after hearing such raving reviews about it.

The programme is simple. Alan Sugar takes a number of professionals into the programme with an aim to find which one he would like to work for him.

This year, there are 16 contestants, 8 female and 8 male. Having said that, one bloke dropped out before the show started! The contestants then move into a house together and each week are set a task.
The tasks vary from making an advert, setting up a cleaning business or finding foreign products abroad.
The contestants are divided into two teams and compete against each other, whichever team looses the task are sent to the board room.
Once in the board room, the contestants are grilled by Alan Sugar and he chooses someone to fire.

This process continues each week until Alan Sugar chooses a candiate to work with.

The show is really enjoyable and fun and you really don't need to know much about business to enjoy it.

Summary: You're hired!

Good basis for a review but think you could go into a bit more detail of the format of the show and some of the apprentices and their backgrounds.
