Information
---------------
The apprentice is possibly the hardest, toughest, most rigorous job interview that one can ever undertake.
It consists of 16 applicants, who first have to go through a hard selection regime, who then complete a number of tasks in two teams in order to impress Sir Alan Sugar and convince him to hire them.
Each week, one (or sometimes two) members of the losing team are fired, sent packing, and are never seen on television again. However, the one person who manages to see the program out to the end, receives a 6 figure salary, reported to be about 100k, in order to work for the legend.
Each week sir alan is assisted in his selections by 2 of his colleagues, Margaret and Nick, who follow the applicants around when they are undertaking their task, and then feedback to Sir Alan as to who they think should go; sir alan rarely listens!
Opinion
---------
I really love the apprentice. Its a great program for many different reasons:
1. It shows you the kind of tasks which people in the world of business have to undertake on a day to day basis.
2. It often has some great characters on there who are well worth watching, even if it is just to laugh at, and not with.
3. It shows people realising their dreams, a common theme for good television.
Whens it on?
----------------
The program is aired in late february through march and is shown on BBC1. It was rumoured this year that sir alan would be stepping down, however, this has not materialised and a new series will be starting shortly after christmas!
