Advantages: Live football
Disadvantages: Clive Tyldsley & Ron Atkinson
The Big Match was essential viewing in the late 70's and early 80's show all important live television football coverage. Now, even though it still covers important games, it has totally lost the plot. While Champions League coverage is alright, the worst has to be when they cover FA Cup matches with its horrendous title music and crap 'sponsored by...' trailers. Surely the worst thing though, is the dreadful commentary duo of Clive Tyldsley and 'Big' Ron Atkinson. Good grief - what a joke. They are, arguably, the worst pair on TV anywhere in the world. What with CT mentioning Manchester united every second breath even in games which have nothing to do with them - in a totally unbiased way of course - and RA's inane, meandering comments every 2 minutes, it's definately time to reach for the remote to hit the mute button. Face it - no TV station is going to beat Sky for their total football coverage.
