The Colour of Money

Description: ITV / British Game Shows

Newest Review: ... Run it through a machine and this tells them how much they are playing for (the minimum is £50,000). The contestant picks a colour box (the reasons for their choice of colour range from "it's the colour of my dog's eyes" to "the box is calling me"). Once a box is chosen the clock starts ticking. Every second the amount on the screen goes up in £1000 amounts. Of course, ... more

... the contestant doesn't know how much money there is in the box, they are just trying to get as much as possible, so the trick is to hold your nerve and let it carry on as far as you dare. When they can stand it no longer, they have to shout STOP. They...more

Premium Review The Colour of Money: The colour of money - a golden find for game shows (555 words)

The colour of money brings Chris Tarrant to our screens once more. I think Chris is a great 'people person' and is just the right sort of presenter this show needs. Whilst when it began, for me, the colour of money was definately a murky beige, now it has grown on me, I'd say it had developed into Platinum. What is it ? It's a game show. A bit like Deal or no deal but with a bit of Perzazz ! How does it work ? There are twenty boxes, all of different colours, they each hold a different amount of money from £1000 up to £20,000 (hence the name). One contestant plays at a time. They select a credit card from a choice of ...  Read the complete review

After the successes of 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,' Chris Tarrant seems to have struck gold again with his latest game show 'The Colour of Money.' He hosts the show himself along with Millie Clode, who I'm sure many of you will recognise from Sky Sports News. The show is a game of nerve really. In each episode a contestant is selected to play and they are in for a real rollercoaster ride of emotions. Firstly, they have to select one of three cards, which contain an unknown cash amount in excess of fifty thousand pounds. Now, the overall aim of the game is simple, they have to end up with exactly the amount of money they have just chosen, if they win, they ...  Read the complete review

Colour Of Money is shown sometimes on a Saturday evening on ITV and it is hosted by Chris Tarrant. Twp people are chosen to take part in the show and are greeted by Chris Tarrant and 20 'cash machines'. These cash machines look more like extra large teles but on each screen is a different colour. Inside each machine there is a sum of money ranging from £1,000 to £20,000. One thing though - nobody knows how much money is in each machine .. So we are told! The contestant comes on and has to choose one of three cards in front of them, they then swipe them to reveal an amount which can be anything over £50,000. This is the amount they then have to reach ...  Read the complete review

The Colour of Money is an ITV1 game show, presented by Chris Tarrant. The programme was first broadcast in 2009. The game starts off with a player choosing an envelope. This contains a monetary value between £50,000 and £80,000. Next, 20 machines become available, each with a name of a colour on it. Each machine holds a different value between £1,000 and £20,000. The player then has to choose a machine, and when ready, the machine counts up in £1,000 increments. The player must shout "STOP" to get the value on the screen to subtract from their target total (from the envelope). If the machine starts to sound an alarm, that means that there is ...  Read the complete review

The Colour Of Money is a new game show which is hosted by Chris Tarrant. It is being billed as the most stressful show on TV and is currently being shown on ITV1 on Saturday nights. The concept of the show is a little different to other gameshows on the TV. There are 20 different screens and each is filled with a predetermined amount of money ranging from £1,000 to £20,000. Each screen is a colour too. A contestant has been selected and they will have the choice of one of three cards which all have a set amount of money on them which is £50,000+. Then the contestant will begin playing the game. One screen is selected by the ...  Read the complete review
