The Football League Show

Newest Review: ... a glimpse of just how well or badly our football teams have done on Saturday afternoon. The show is on Saturday Nights on BBC1 after Match of the Day, times can vary depending on what the BBC is doing with its primetime 'Strictly come dancing' schedule that week but its generally on around 23:00-23:30 and can also be watched on Sunday by pressing your red button. Presented by Manish Bhasin with expert opinion from Steve Claridge, I like the show, Bhasin is smooth and not too annoying while Claridge has that knowledge of all the divisions and is incisive, witty and very honest, you do get to see all the goals and a bit more of some of the... more

The Football League consists of the 3 divisions below the Premier League - The Championship, League 1 and League 2. Fans of clubs in these leagues will tell you that they're infinitely more competitive and unpredictable than the boring Premier League. With the Premier league you can predict the results with a good deal of confidence, but you can't generally do this with the Football League - look at Peterborough and Exeter who've achieved 2 successive promotions, and look at how big clubs like L**ds, Southampton, ...  Read the complete review

The Football League Show, presented by Manish Bhasin with expert opinion from Steve Claridge follows Match Of The Day on saturdays on BBC1. What is confusing is that they dont do it if there are midweek games so I am waiting to see if they show both gmaeweek games in one saturday program. I doubt it. Aswell as the show you now have the chance to watch highlights and all the goals from the Football League (Championship, League 1 & 2) online on the BBC Sport website. Manish is a very good presenter in this show and seems to show a strong rapport with the guest analysts on the show. The BBC have been accused in recent years on showing poor programming ...  Read the complete review
