Advantages: A great way to see how the other half live

Disadvantages: Billed as real life, this is anything but

The Hills is one of my favourite shows on television. A spin-off from Laguna Beach, The Hills charts the highs and lows of life in LA, with the help of the main characters, Lauren, Heidi and Audrina. The Hills is advertised as being entirely real, however after watching it avidly through all the series it is clear that it not entirely real life. I watched a programme about the Hills and it commented on how not all of the action is filmed when it happens, but instead reenacted when the camera crew are there. For some people this would put them off the show, but not for me. I look forward to seeing the new episode each week and seeing more of the ups and mainly downs of living in LA. There are friendship troubles, relationship troubles and work troubles. As you watch and begin to learn about each of the characters you realise who is being true and who isn't. A great programme to see how some other people live.

Summary: Great to watch if you can get over the fakeness
