Premium Review The Hotel Inspector: Alex Polizzi's Hotel Knightmares (260 words)

Yay! Another reality TV show to waste those precious winter evenings. This one is very similar in format to Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Knightmares - the main difference being, you guessed it, it focuses on hotels. Basically, each show follows the same format. A hotel with a small occupancy rate that is failing financially calls in the help of Alex Polizzi, who is aparently a world renowned hotelier. Polizzi, checks into the hotel and rates the welcome she recieves, the customer service in general, the room and bathroom facilities and the breakfast she recieves. She then takes the hotel owners to one side and lists what, in her opinion, the reasons for ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review MAKING HOTELS LIKE HOME - PERHAPS (306 words)

This show has been going for quite a while now, can't think what series we are on and although I used to really like this show, I still watch it thesedays, but I am getting a bit bored of it. Kind oflike How Clean Is Your House, but for Hotels, as the title perhaps gives it away, it is about a Hotel Inspector who goes into Hotels where the owners are asking for help, gives them some pointers and all is meant to be well. The original show featured the Inspector called Ruth Watson. I think she was the best Hotel Inspector. She seemed nice enough, said what she thought, seemed to give good pointers and the show seemed better with her in it. The last ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Hotel Inspector: Are all our hotels like these? (555 words)

There are only 3 programmes on Channel 5 which I regularily tune in to watch. Them being Neighbours, The Mentalist and now The Hotel Inspector. I'd seen the adverts dotted about, not really all that interested but then we ended up watching an episode when there was nothing else on and now I'm hooked. It does what it says on the tin really. Alex Polizzi visits hotels around the country which are failing. Whether through bad management or just the hotel being a bit of a shambles you can be sure that she'll be sniffing about the place. It does appear to be a bit of a make over show. The bedrooms and bathrooms seeming to be the main complaint. ...  Read the complete review

The Hotel Inspector is a television series which airs on British terrestrial television channel, Five. In the first three seasons the show is presented by hotelier Ruth Watson in series 4 Alex Polizzi takes charge. In each show the presenter visits a struggling British hotel or guest house / B&B and tries to turn their fortunes by giving advice and suggestions to the owner. It seems to run along the lines of the Property ladder show with Sarah Beeny. The presenter now Alex Polizza, who is a very successful hotelier visits the business in question and stays over night herself in one of the rooms to get a feel of what the guests have been experiencing. It ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Hotel Inspector: How clean are the hotels you stay in? (403 words)

I'm not usually a fan of reality-type TV programs, but I do stay in hotels quite a lot and decided to give The Hotel Inspector a try after seeing an advert for it last year. Alex Polizzi is The Hotel Inspector, a successful businesswoman who goes to see failing hotels around the country and gives them advice on how to improve their business. However, rather than being a business-y program, the show focuses more on the owners and workers of the hotels who can sometimes be quite eccentric and don't understand the obvious problems with their establishment. Most of the time it's the bedrooms that aren't up-to-scratch. They're sometimes in need of a ...  Read the complete review
