Advantages: Good representation of teenage life, great camaraderie between characters

Disadvantages: May start losing ideas for material

The Inbetweeners is a comedy sitcom that screens on E4 written by Damon Beesley and Iain Morris. It is a BAFTA nominated show that features four teenagers who struggle through their sixth form as friends. Simon Bird plays the nerdy Will, Joe Thomas plays Simon who is obssessive over one girl, Blake Harrison plays Neil who is not the sharpest tool in the box and James Buckley plays Jay who is always on the search for 'clunge' as he calls it. The word Inbetweeners has been derived from people who are not nerds but also not popular.

The Inbetweeners is very different to it's teenage brother on E4 Skins, which focuses a lot more on sex and drugs. The Inbetweeners is often seen as a more realistic take on college life with countless jokes about mothers, obessessing over girls and trying and often failing to get them, all for our humour.

Scenes are usually filmed at the sixth form, one of the friend's houses or at the various hilarious situations they find themselves in. These situations range from naked on a boat to under age parties or an old folks home (I won't go there). There is a fantastic camaraderie between the characters which you feel is representative of a lot of teenagers nowadays and perhaps surprisingly I also really enjoy the camaraderie between the four of them and their head of sixth form, who is hilarious and the parents.

The Inbetweeners has been running for two seasons now, with six episodes per season and continues to stay strong and very funny. Whether they can maintain the freshness and level of material remains to be seen but we're all in for a treat if they can. It is the only comedy sitcom to have me laughing on a consistent basis.

Summary: A very funny British comedy which represents teenage life in Britain.
