Advantages: Unique show, extremely funny
Disadvantages: None
First of all it has to be said that I love this show! However I have only recently started watching it at the start of the second series. I did not watch the first series, I had see it advertised on TV but I didnt think that it would be my kind of show so I chose not to watch it. However when the second series came out it was my boyfriend who persuaded me to watch it and i'm so glad he did!
The show is based on four main characters, Will (Simon Bird), Simon (Joe Thomas), Jay (James Buckley), Neil (Blake Harrison) who are a group of friends who are at school (sixth form). As quoted from the website 'all they care about is sex, cheap booze, kid brothers and the sexual persuasion of Neil's dad'. You may think that this is not your kind of show, but it is filled with comedy which will literally have you crying. I think the reason that the show has been so popular is because it is so real and i'm sure many lads at this age can relate to them, and it is what I can remember back at school that they are exactly like some of the boys who I went to school with!
Here is a brief description of the characters:
Will- The geeky, good boy who aims to please. He was the new boy at their school who manages to latch on to Simon and his friends and become part of their group. He has great comic timing and things tend not to go his way! Also known in the show as having a 'fit' mum.
Simon-The one with the car and who has a long term crush on neighbour Carli. He has a kid brother who he doesn't get along with, and is very funny with the scenes with his Mum. Maybe one day he will get with Carli.....ha ha
Jay- One word for Jay- Sex. Everything that happens in the show will always result in it somehow leading back to sex from Jay. Some parts can be disgusting so be prepared!
Neil- The not so bright one of the show, and also there is debates about his Dad's sexuality, as Neil says he is not gay. He tends to be a bit behind with the jokes in the show and is extremely funny!
If you are unsure to watch this show or not I would definately recommend it, its so funny and it is an original show so its not like a copycat of any other shows done before.
Channel 4 are showing repeats of the show on Friday nights at around 11pm, and E4 did re-run the whole first series a few months ago, so look out for it to be shown again on there! (I watched the first series and loved it just as much as the second!) Lets hope theres a 3rd series!
Summary: Great show so give it a go!

- 20/09/09 It's one of those shows that you do feel a bit guilty finding funny at times, but for all my sins it makes me cry with laughter on occasion. |
