School strife satirised (The Inbetweeners)
Member Name: durhamapple
Advantages: Very funny, great storyline, well acted Disadvantages: Episodes are a little short Everyone has been to school, and everyone's had the trouble of growing up and becoming an adult, therefore everyone can relate to this hilarious portrayal of adolescent woe. The name 'The inbetweeners' describes the show aptly enought, these school boys are in between childhood and adulthood and they are very confused! Will the main character, arrives at a comprehensive school from his old public school and immediately finds himself hilariously out of place. He soon makes friends with a band of faithful losers who are just looking for popularity (particularly with the opposite sex). Thrown into to each episode is a healthy smattering of slapstick, sexual puns, one liners and visual gags that make the 25 or so minutes seems decidedly short. I watched the first episode with my friend and went out and bought the series on a whim. Though it was a whimsical decision, I wasn't disappointed as each episode was just as painfully funny as the first. Summary: A hilarious portrayal of school life that everyone can relate to. |
