Advantages: people in trouble are helped

Disadvantages: same person loses dignity on national tv

This show appeared on ITV in July 2005. It is British version of The Springer Show. For the first year The Jeremy Kyle show ran in similar time slot to Springer. In August 2006 Springer was dropped and Kyle ran on its own.

Usually on this show you will find family members or friends bringing one of their own to the show to resolve problems which are normally serious, addicts, people with mental problems and unfaithful partners are the ones on the spot.

Jeremy Kyle finds out the problems and then unlike Springer gives out useful advice. Whereas no springer show was without fight. On here fights are not as frequent but when one breaks out it is not shown.

Jeremy and his backstage professional helpers give advice and sometime foot the bill for person to seek help.

The show attracts large followers. Jeremy Kyle is often seen bullying the guest. I suppose he does this to correct the person or to put some sense in the empty head that goes on national tv to seek help.

Often the show looks harsh on one person. My question is that like wrestling could it be all a set up? Guests given money to behave like that. It happened on other shows I presume it can happen here.

I don't always watch The Jeremy Kyle show. When I do I find it quite a laugh. It is not rude or stupid as Springer. Although people lose dignity help is only mintues away. Both sides benefit. Show makers and the guests coming on the show.

Summary: helps both sides
