Since DooYoo are taking FOREVER to process my book suggestions (from 3 weeks ago!) I'm taking to reviewing TV shows I watch. A daily favourite of mine is The Jeremy Kyle Show hosted by - surprise, surprise, Jeremy Kyle!

****What is The Jeremy Kyle Show?****

The Jeremy Kyle Show is a chat show that has aired since 2005. It airs every morning from 9.25am until 10.30am with repeats later in the day as well as second airings on ITV2.

It's hosted by Jeremy Kyle who used to work in radio. You might also remember his story in Pick Me Up (that's where I remembered him from) where after running a contest to marry two strangers, Jeremy himself ended up marrying the woman in the contest.

Helping Jeremy out backstage is Graham Stanier - who is known as The Genius. He and his backstage staff offer counselling and support to the guests on the show.

The topics on The Jeremy Kyle Show range from DNA tests to lie detector tests to alcohol/drugs problems to violent relationships. There are also appeals for people who haven't seen a relative for a number of years as well as celebrity specials and episodes where Jeremy goes to a run-down area to help out.

Most of the guests on the show are those you'd hate to have as neighbours. Loud, brash and just plain outrageous. However there are the rare occasions when the people on the show aren't all bad.

The Jeremy Kyle Show also attracts a lot of controversies. There have been numerous court cases and the show has been described as "human bear-baiting". Jeremy himself attracts a lot of controversy because of his no-nonsense approach.

*****My Thoughts*****

I always watch The Jeremy Kyle Show and, although this might be the wrong word, enjoy the show immensely. For me it's just something I watch with my breakfast, and I enjoy watching it.

Jeremy Kyle gets on my nerves sometimes but he always listens to both sides of the story and is a fair host. I applaud the fact he takes a direct approach to his guests. Too many people in the UK are treated as if they're wrapped in cotton wool and it patently doesn't work. All of the guests on Jeremy's show generally need the proverbial kick up the bum anyway.

My favourite shows of Jeremy's are the Lie Detector & DNA results shows. I love wondering if a guest has cheated or not or whether they're the father or not. It's what I like about Maury Povich's show, too.

I also like the special shows where Jeremy introduces young children who, despite having illness', are the happiest children around. It definitely makes you think.

The Jeremy Kyle Show also has incredibly sad episodes. There was one, a while ago, where someone told the tale of how a man had bashed a baby against a wall which killed him. It had me in tears and was just such an awful story.

Another thing The Jeremy Kyle Show does well is the reunions. They're sad in a happy way - seeing families be reunited after years apart is a really nice thing.

One thing I'd love is more news on guests after they leave. It's be great to know how the reunions went or if an alcoholic managed to beat his/her addiction.

The Jeremy Kyle Show is definitely not all bad. It's worth a watch if you like that kind of thing. Me, I do.

Summary: A good show if it's your thing.
