Watching Jeremy Kyle is often a dirty little secret. And quite rightly so. There is definitely joy to be had in the twisted lives of other people. But it's not a joy to be proud of.
First perfect ingredient on the show is the uniform of all the guests. It's like they are each handed tracky bottoms and a washed out vest top as they reach the studios, and their hair gets scraped back into a high tight pony tail. Once in this uniform, they proceed to the stage to scream and swear at any combination of the following
-Cheating boyfriend
-Absent father
-Thieving sibling
-Interfering Mother
Or any other combination of verb/relative.

The cardinal sin of a visit to Jeremy Kyles stage, is to argue with the man himself. My word, that man can shout as much as any of the guests.

The thing is, after all the bad taste, car crash TV, you do get the impression that people are offered real help with their problems. They just have to earn it by being humiliated on day time TV, whether they know it or not.
