The Jeremy Kyle Show
Disadvantages: The guests, show can be repetitive, sometimes pointless arguments,
The Jeremy Kyle show first started back in Summer 2005, and has since become a regular on daytime television. It's shown on ITV1 each weekday morning at 9.25, and lasts for an hour. You can also catch it on repeats on ITV 2 later in the day.
*****What's is all about?*****
In a nutshell, Jeremy Kyle tries to solve his guests' problems.
When the show first comes on, we're introduced to Jeremy Kyle himself, who tells us what's coming up on today's episode.
Generally, there's three separate issues in which he attempts to tackle per show. At the start of each new 'issue', he brings out a guest, who has a little chat with Jeremy about how said problem has affected him/her.
As the story progresses, Kyle introduces more people (normally family members or friends of the initial guest), who each have their say on the matter at hand.
Sometimes these people talk and aim to resolve whatever's up, often they disagree, from time to time they insult one another, and on occasion there's been a good old throwdown take place right there and then in the studio.
The lie detector can additionally be used on the guests, the latest example of which I can remember it being used recently would be a woman who insisted her boyfriend take the test as she's convinced he's lying about having an affair.
Kyle himself is a reformed gambler, and has a sense of 'been there, done that' with some of the topics he deals with. He's proved himself to be a capable host of the show, being soft and gentle to guests that need reassuring, yet getting quite blunt and to the point with those that need telling! He often makes dramatic statements that get a good round of applause from the audience.
*****My opinion of show*****
It's definitely not something I'd sit down and make a point of watching.
Some of the guests just look plain cringe worthy, Jezza can seem rather 'holier than thou' some of the times, and I've seen stories that make you think "What's the point?"
The issues raised can be quite repetitive, and at the end of the program it'll make you wonder why you just wasted an hour of your life watching a bunch of strangers airing their dirty laundry.
However, this is my personal opinion, be free to make your own!
