Each episode lasts around 30 minutes, and contains two standalone 15-minute episodes. This helps to keep it short and sweet, and episode pairing is not an issue, as continuity is not at all important in this show. Originally a one-off short, The Life and Times of Tim is an animated HBO comedy series written by Steve Dildarian. The show follows, as the name might suggest, the farcical trials, tribulations and frequently bizzarre scenarios that the main character, Tim, encounters in his day to day life. The show's lead lives in New York with his girlfriend Amy, and has an extremely apathetic outlook, essentially an innocent bystander to all of the unlikely, unbelievable, and often obscene situations he finds himself in.
