There are rarely TV shows that my husband and I agree on are worth watching. He is a MOTD man, I prefer True Blood but we both agree that the Mentalist is one of the best cop drama shows on TV at the moment. It's not exactly loaded with sex scenes (thank goodness I watched it with my mother a couple of times!) but for me this is a refreshing change, as it can focus on the really interesting element of the show, which for me is the process of deduction that makes the killer obvious to Patrick Jane. If I have one tiny criticism it is that he doesn't always give his 'working out' of how he reached his conclusion, and for a mystery buff like me that is essential! Well worth a watch though, it does feel like 'clever' TV compared to some of the dross on at the moment! I have box sets of the first three seasons and will be waiting for number four.
