Dead duck of a show (The Moment Of Truth)

Advantages: Mildly entertaining

Disadvantages: No real excitement

This game show never really took off and in fact the Dooyoo choice of picture is amusing as it was a bit of a dead duck.

The show was hosted by Cilla Black who was best known for Blind Date and someone I always found a bit annoying mainly because she had an awful strong scouse accent and I always felt she was trying to be someone she was not.

The show had a number of components, the ain one pitted two families against each other for a cash prize, each member from each family had to learn a skill or task and then one of them competed against a member from the other family in the studio or out on location, it was a straight winner takes all and the show also charted their training or learning progress. Both have a week to learn it and in fact both families win a holiday just that there was a big difference in quality. Also the winners were set another challenge for the next seven days and the chance to win a huge prize if they succeed.

The main problem with the show was that there was little tension in it and if you missed a week then part of the show had even less emaning to you as you did not know the previous weeks winners.

They also did some on the spot przes out in various towns where people could win a grand, these were quite amusing some of the time as the were a little more spontaneous.

Summary: Poor game show.
