It was not the over-confident Peter Serefinowc brilliant impressions or cheeky comic timing from his hit Thursday night show that got the nations attention recently but his surname. After being stuffed away on BBC3 digital all summer his arrival to analogue, on the face of it, looked like just the latest Jewish comedy talent to roll off the BBCs conveyor belt. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Someone important ‘googled’ his name and it turned out his grandfather was an alleged Nazi war criminal, responsible for anything but aiding the Jewish BBC comedy tree at Shepherds Bush.
