I used to love this Canadian cartoon when I was younger. It used to come on BBC1 before Going Live on a Saturday morning. Characters The main character was a clumsy raccoon called Bert. No matter what he did, he always got into trouble. He did fancy himslef as an explorer and adventurer amongst several other things! One episode he tried to make a plane out of a bike - he didn't get very far! He always used to wear a red sweater with goldish cuffs and a big gold "B" on the front. His first and only love in life was peanut butter and that went in all of his recipes! Helping Bert out of trouble, were his two friend Ralph and Melissa, also raccoons, who were the editor and photographer for the Evergreen Sandard newspaper. They were married to each other and had Bert as their house guest. The bad guy of the forest was the money obsessed Cyril Sneer. He was a strange looking pink thing with a nose that bent downwards like a trunk. He was constantly coming up with ways to add to his mountain of money and didn't care who he hurt. Sneer didn't like the raccoons because they always foiled his plans. He did have one soft spot thoug, for his son, Cedric. Cedric looked exactly like his father except he wore glasses. He was best friends with Bert, which could explain how he sometimes got out of trouble. Despite looking lkike his father, Cedric didn't share his dad's qualities. He was kind and was always pleading with Cyril not to go through with his plans. Where he lacked in confidence, he made up for in intelligence. The Pigs hung on Cyril's every word despite always being blamed for everything. Although mostly it was their fault as they were very incompetent. Although there were three of them, they didn't seem to have names, but one of them always seemed to take the lead. Schaeffer, was a large grey sheepdog and good freind to the raccoons and Cedric. He also spent most of his time l
ooking after Broo, a puppy sheepdog. Mr Mammouth and Mr Knox were the two main tradesmen that Cyril Sneer did business with and they were just as dodgey as him! The minor characters generally seemed to be rhinos or alligators, although there were one or two humans and a few more raccoons who made appearances from time to time. Music The music in this was very catchy for a child too. I remember one of the songs that always seemed to be in it was called "Run With Me" or something like that. It didn't really have a theme song, it was mainly speech. Over view I think it's a shame they don't show it now as it was a really nice cartoon for youngster and taught them morals without them realising it. I would be first in line to watch it if it ever came back on!
