Advantages: Very entertaining

Disadvantages: Some of the scams seem a bit far-fetched

The Real Hustle is a programme for BBC Three in which three con artists demonstrate how scams and rip-offs are pulled off on unsuspecting members of the general public. The 'hustlers' are Paul, Alex and Jess each of whom bring different skills to create memorable cons. Paul has a talent for sleight of hand which comes in handy for switching expensive jewellery for worthless fakes. Alex is good with cards and demonstrates his skill in a series of the programme set in Vegas. Jess fools trusting marks with her beauty and her acting skills trick the public - and men in particular - into falling for the scams. The hustles they pull off range from simple pick-pocketing to robbing expensive jewellery by posing as police officers. Many of the scams seem too labour-intensive and risky to be profitable others seem too ambitious to really be feasible but the programme is entertaining nonetheless and shows just how easily people can be drawn into parting with their money or possessions.

Summary: Don't trust these guys
